CODE OF CONDUCT

As a Parent, Spectator or Coach:

  1. I will enjoy my child’s opportunity to experience the benefits of softball.
  2. I will trust in my child’s ability to have fun as well as to perform and achieve excellence on her own.
  3. I will help my child to learn the right lessons from winning and losing and from individual accomplishments and mistakes.
  4. I will respect my child’s teammates and fellow parents as well as the player, parent and coaches of the opposing teams.
  5. I will give only encouragement and applaud only positive accomplishments whether for my child, her teammates, their opponents or the umpires. 
  6. I will respect my child’s coach and support his/her efforts.
  7. I will not instruct from the sidelines unless asked to by the coach.
  8. I will insure that my child will attend all games and practices and, when not possible, I agree to inform the coach in advance.
  9. I will respect all facilities made available so my child can play games and practice softball.
  10. I will respect any equipment or uniform that may be loaned to my child so that she can participate. 
  11. I will respect the umpires and their authority at all times. 
  12. I will never demonstrate threatening or abusive behavior and/or use foul language. 
  13. I will follow all policies/procedures of the BAY CITY GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION while at the facility or other league affiliated locations.


As a Player:

 

  1. I will enjoy the opportunity to experience the benefits of softball.
  2. I will trust in my ability to have fun as well as to perform and achieve excellence on my own.

  4. I will respect my parents, teammates, fellow players and coaches of the opposing teams.

  6. I will respect my coach and support his/her efforts.
  7. I will insure I will do my best to attend all games and practices and, when not possible, I agree to inform the coach in advance.

  12. I will refrain from taunting, bullying or engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct. 
  13. I will follow all policies/procedures of the BAY CITY GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION while at the facility  or other league affiliated locations.

As a Board Member:

  1. Act honestly, ethically, and in the best interests of the Association and its mission.
  2.   Support and uphold the decisions of the Board and respect confidentiality where appropriate.
  3. ·  Maintain respectful communication with players, parents, officials, and other volunteers.
  4. Avoid conflicts of interest, whether personal, financial, or otherwise.
  5. Promote safety, sportsmanship, and skill development above winning.
  6. Serve as positive role models both on and off the field.
  7. Must pass a criminal background check
